As a society, we have adopted an attitude of constantly seeking more. We seek happiness in other people, food, sugar, drugs, ambition, entertainment, sports, and the list goes on.
Hebrews 13:7 tells us, “Let your conduct be without covetousness; be content with such things as you have. ‘For He Himself has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.’”
Our society lies to us. True, lasting happiness does not spring from things that can pass away from our lives. In reality, happiness is very simple. When we find contentment in Jesus, the only One who will stay the same, then we can truly live blessed with less.
Originally, I started Living Blessed with Less with the intent of discussing decluttering and minimalism. I still love talking about decluttering, but I have realized that there are many things in our lives that we could use to have less of. Normally, when we could use to have less of something that means we need more of something else in its place. We tend to miss the most important things in life because we are distracted by the seemingly important.
